New House and Summer Music

Slowly but surely we are getting settled. Heather the seller of our house left it in great shape. We are super grateful to find such a awesome house in a great location.

All around us are short trails that I have been running and biking on with Diesel. We are on top of a big hill and my legs were fried the first two weeks. I made the mistake of going too hard running on the steep stuff when my body can only handle that one a week or so. The ride to work on my road bike is a snap. Super fun jetting down the hill in my dress shirt. The ride back home is a tough one but is getting easier.

Luca loves the backyard and his new room. We are still trying to transition him in to a big boy bed. He escapes and runs around the house as soon as we leave his room. In the afternoons we have been going to the ball fields to play soccer. So cool to play on such big pristine fields.

Next up are photos on the walls and plants.

Trains in Snowqualmie

Last weekend we were able to take some time off from Ikea runs and moving to go on a family trip to Snowqualmie. Luca had a blast. We sat in the oldest old car on the train made in 1902. Super cool!

Luca turns 3 years old!

Luca is 3 years old! Hard to believe how much he has grown up this year. He talks, argues, tells jokes and can count to ten amongst other crazy cave man tricks. We have reconnected with most of our old friends here and had a fun little birthday party at the Medina playground. Such a difference from his 1st birthday party with no hitting, biting or meltdowns. Every one had a good time. Grandma Susan also got to come with a perfectly timed Seattle visit on her way to Canada.

We are anxiously awaiting out new house to close in Redmond. I will post next with some photos.

Happy Birthday Luca! We love you.

Summer boat rides & the Seattle Monorail

The weather has been beautiful! Our days have been sunny & 80+ degrees and ending with beautiful sunsets. So lucky. When it is this nice out we have a hard time getting Luca inside and to bed before 9pm. That in turn pushes Lara and I up to 11pm which makes a 6 am wakeup pretty tough.

Every weekend Luca asks to go on the Seattle Monorail. The ride is short from the space needle in to the downtown but he loves it. We have had a few meltdowns because he wants to always ride the parked, broken red train and not the perfectly good, running blue train. The view from the elevated tracks is pretty awesome as you snake through Seattle.

Summer Nights

Summer is still here! We had a a few days of cold and rain but the sun is back in full force. I love that is stays light so late here. After work we have a full 3-4 hours of light to play around and explore. We have been doing the usual park trips and checking on the seaplanes. Last night we ventured in to Seattle for the summer music series. Kegs were tapped and ska was played, great time. It was so cute to see Luca dance and call out the instruments names with excitement. Lara is 8 months along now and doing really well. Baby Skye is upside down but should turn soon.

Back in Seattle

Nice to be back up in Seattle. Wow it stays light out late up here. House hunting has been going well. Luca has been having a ball running in and out of the lake and taking boat rides. The stand up paddleboard is also a hit with either Steve or I paddling most days.

Palo Alto and Drupalcon

This years Drupalcon was in San Francisco. We stayed in Palo Alto with the Degeronimos and commuted via caltrain. Super easy & fast. Very cool, Luca likes trains also.

Easter in Santa Barbara

We spent a nice warm Easter in Santa Barbara. Luca was so excited to go on the egg hunt with Dillan and Kane. They did great and came back with lots of eggs.

Luca was happy housing down the garden while the grown ups ate dinner the
other night. We pulled him away before his lips turned blue for pie & ice
cream.

While we were waiting for swimming class Luca and I went shopping for boards. Unfortunately the 3 minute attention span had us out of the store and to the nearby train tracks within minutes....
