Biography:
Growing up on the water Erik started sailing at the
age of fourteen and was hooked. He raced small dinghies
until getting his first windsurf board at the age
of 16. After a few months of learning Erik was zipping
across the bay under the Golden Gate Bridge.
At 18, Erik
attended University of Hawaii at Maui's satellite
campus MCC. After two years of college Erik took a
job with on Sayonara working for Oracle CEO Larry
Ellison. Sayonara went on to win two world championships
in Porto Cervo and Newport.
Erik then became
the first mate of Sayonara's rival Boomerang. Boomerang broke the twenty year old Fastnet record that year but lost the championship to Sayonara.
Next Stop San Francisco to Captain a beautiful Sunseeker powerboat during the height of the dot com boom.
Erik had been selling photos to magazines over the years and decide to open a photography business in Maui with his soul mate Lara. The business Red Earth Media took off filling
the niche of the only all digital sports photography
business on Maui. They soon had magazines all over
the world printing their photos and had a handful
of commercial clients.
Erik, Lara, Luca and
Rye are currently in Seattle Designing web sites for Concur and managing a portfolio of
commercial real estate. We have been blessed with a new family member Luca who you can see on the blog.
