Visiting Palo Alto

On a whim we went up to Palo Alto this weekend. It was so nice to see everyone and get to just relax. My mom and Dad came down from Marin which was perfect. Luca and the girls played and played on our rounds to all the different playgrounds.
Diesel the dog is always excited by the ever macho Palo Alto black squirrels. They
sit on braches just out of reach and chirp away at him. Such a quick trip.

Sun, Beach and the park, spring is here.

After a couple of big storms looks like spring has finally sprung. We have had some nice beach days. The water is still really cold but feels nice on my sore feet & legs. Luca is getting to be such a big boy. He loves swimming, riding his bike and sharing at the playground. HIs favorite word is Okay, pronounced OkAAAy.

Thanksgiving, Marathons and Playgrounds

Luca is learning how to do everything himself. All the time we hear "I do IT!" So we got him washing dishes cleaning up etc. Even though that means we usually have to cleanup after the cleanup.

The SB marathon cruised right through shoreline park. We got to watch mile 26 as people came down the last hill. Since doing the marathon in April my feet and ankles have never really adjusted. Running over 10 miles has just become quite uncomfortable. The past few months I have been relearning to run using the pose technique. This with sand sprints and shorter distances has brought the fun back to running for me. Oh well, I have plenty of time left to run marathon's.

Palo Alto BBQ

Sat outside and ate chips, guacamole while the cousins ran around. Then for dinner had a huge salmon. Palo Alto is a great town to just walk and hang out.

Roger's Birthday

We made the long haul up to Marin for Roger's birthday party. I am glad we made it. So nice to see everyone and catch up with lots of family that we miss. Our trips up are usually so short that we never get to see everyone. Luca was on a roll and the many pieces of cake did not help. Thankfully he met some new friends to help with the wrangling.

Fall Weekends

Typical weekend activities. Basketball in the backyard. Bikes to the harbor. Sunset BBQ's and a ride on the Pirate Boat. Captain Charlie and Luca are a great team.

Crushing grapes Cambria Vineyards

Chardonnay Harvest at Cambria vineyards. Luca was in fine 2 year old form. We did our tasting outside and enjoyed the sun. Cambria has some nice Pinot Noir which we scored a case of at a deep discount. I always check out what is on sale at the wineries. Some of it is crap but a lot of times you can find a good deal on some great wine. Always ask to taste what you are buying. We ended up with Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir rated at 93pts. It has a bright citrus/berry taste with a bit of chocolate mixed in. Lara gave it a thumbs up also so we had a deal.
